Historical references made their way onto Giambattista Valli's AW23 collection as the maison's eponymous designer looked to French Empress Joséphine Bonaparte for inspiration. This coat is exemplary. Crafted from tactile tweed illuminated by metallic threading, it is cut to a longline silhouette that flares from the waist, resembling frock designs popular during the Victorian and Edwardian periods. As a final note, braided trim adds a framing touch.
