In a world of dream wardrobes, Monikh Dale’s curated collection of forever pieces is up there on our favorites list — and it’s one you might recognize as an eagle-eyed Instagrammer. London native Monikh offers an endlessly inspirational feed with genuine authenticity.

Leaning towards effortless staples and light, breezy fabrics, the stylist, editor, and influencer has an incredible eye for cool-girl simplicity. Showcasing her design-led home over at @monikh, smart and minimal backdrops weave into an Instagram feed of well-considered designer pieces.

We sat down with Monikh to talk about styling, amongst other things, such as inspiring like-minded, modern women to feel confident.

How did your journey into styling begin?

I did a degree in Fashion Design Womenswear at the University of East London as I've always wanted to be a designer, ever since I can remember. Once I graduated, I began the search for a design job however, I soon met the Topshop Personal Shopping team. It was a new world for me — one I didn't know existed before. I started as a full-time stylist and I thrived in making women feel confident about their bodies through clothing and clever styling.

What do you love about social media? And, how has it changed since you began your career?

I jumped onto social media platforms very early on, creating pages of re-pinned inspiration to help with my fashion degree. When Instagram was born I was an early adopter — and lucky enough to get my first name as the @. Instead of re-pinning inspo, I was creating my own. It had a whole new purpose — a new outlet for me to grow and express my creative thoughts. I would have always found a way to slot myself within the industry, but social media gave a voice to those who were starting out and not afraid of new things.

How has your style and aesthetic evolved?

I think I have always stuck to my rule of 'less is more'. I may lean towards different tones and shapes depending on the year, season, or trend, but ultimately I go back to a real simple aesthetic.

Which designers stand at the top of your radar right now and why?

I love The Row. The Olsen twins can just do no wrong. Their line is the ultimate chic destination; ageless and effortless yet sophisticated.

Could you name the top 3 pairs of investment shoes in your wardrobe?

My Bottega Veneta heels will be with me for life. It's so rare to find a pair of simple brown heels, and they go with everything! Next, it has to be The Row flip flops. I’ve worn them every day since they arrived in February. Lastly, it's the Bottega Veneta boots. Big and chunky, I know they’ll be my winter go-to every year.

In terms of styling the shoes, talk us through a typical transitional look. Which pieces and why?

Let the shoes do all the talking. Keep the outfit simple; white linen dresses while it’s still hot, and then jeans and a plain tee when the colder months come in.

You’ve been in your flat for over 6 months now. How have you curated your home to fit your style?

I dress my home the same way I dress. I want it to be calm, simple, and chic — somewhere I can be totally zen. It’s where I both live and work so I need to be comfortable when here.

And lastly, do you have any wardrobe organization tips?

I like to sort by item — so dresses, tops, jackets, trousers, co-ords. This way, I go to the section I need that day, putting the newest items at the front. If I know I’ve got a busy week coming up, I'll pre-plan the week's outfits and put them on a separate rail so there’s no stress when it comes to getting ready.
