You don’t need to go to an exhibition to culture up - Osklen’s limited-edition capsule is quite literally, a work of art.
WORDS BY AMELIA BELL
Cult Brazilian label Osklen have just launched a special edition capsule inspired by the life and works of the famous painter, and São Paulo native, Tarsila do Amaral, doing their bit for that long-cherished relationship between fashion and art.
In the collection, Amaral’s distinct paintings are splashed onto diaphanous silk dresses, trousers and tops. There’s also slip dresses that feature pure sketches, and fire-engine red, imbued by the artist’s self-portrait, 'Manteau Rouge’.
The capsule shines a new light on Amaral, considered one of the best Latin American artists of her generation. ‘I invent everything in my paintings. And what I’ve seen or felt, I style’ she once said of her work.
Combining the spirit of Tarsila do Amaral’s work and that classic Osklen DNA, we’re calling this new collection a beautiful compilation of the contemporary and the past, and a pitch perfect celebration of Brazil’s homegrown talents.
