Stop Googling beaches. M.i.h Jeans’ Marrakesh 1971 capsule is bringing summer back, right to your door...

WORDS BY ALEXANDRA RHODES

The majority of the population might be in hibernation mode, courtesy of the Siberian chill torturing Europe right now, but London-based denim brand M.i.h Jeans is in a summer state of mind. 47 years on, the label is bringing back the original Marrakesh flare from their archives for SS18, and it’s available on Farfetch 2 weeks before anywhere else.

So where to shoot a capsule collection named after the Moroccan city? Yeah, you guessed it. Vogue Contributing Editor and photographer Laura Bailey took to the kasbahs of Marrakesh to capture Ella Richards in the exclusive 6-piece collection. ‘I wanted to capture this bohemian spirit of adventure by photographing a young woman on a road trip with a raw authentic travel journal feel, and Marrakesh was the dream destination for a denim love story. It’s both a rich and diverse location and a symbol of a moment in style and time’ she says.

And as the granddaughter of Stones’ guitarist Keith (the band were frequent visitors to Talitha and John Paul, Jr Getty’s legendary Marrakesh party house) it's not surprising Richards brings bohemian energy to this collection of free-spirited flares and worn-in denim shorts. Groovy!
